And then she goes and releases a picture like this. And I’m all like “HAH! Look at that beaut!”

But really, she’s gorgeous.

Link 8 Feb 46 notes I am the segway: A few reasons why using the term sellout makes you look dumb»

swaggarden:

  • Artists and bands sign contracts with major labels to sell more, to have a bigger audience. Yeah, there’s the dream of music but it’s also a job. So by your logic,  a band would sellout from the moment they’re signing to a better contract
  • Most of those artists you accuse of being sellouts (Metallica, Mariah Carey and others) just did subjectively questionable musical shifts. They were already millionaire before that, and those shifts made them lose album sales and some fans, but they gained others, still it doesn’t make them rich.
  • Albums like Chris Cornell’s Scream, Christina Aguilera’s Bionic and Mariah Carey’s Glitter were some of the lowest selling albums in the respective artists’ careers (sellout? where?)
  • Great albums that are a part of the classic mainstream now had lower sales at the moment of its release
  • Sales don’t mean a thing, just money for the artists and chances to tour.
  • Musical shifts are OK and can be acepted or rejected by you, the consumer.  The artist is a person with a work, and he can’t satisfy everyone, and that’s just as simple because everyone likes different things.
  • Being not as capable to sing as before because of age, etc, does not make you a sellout, just normal things like…age? And consequences of the addictions you praised on them. It’s OK to switch and take care of their voices
  • Artist are influenced by whatever it happens in their life and no one can think the same way during all his / her life…so change is going to happen one way or another
  • You can dislike someone’s work, but sellout is a silly term. They’re in it for the money too. That’s why CDs and concert tickets aren’t free or cheap.
